i can't put it down.

the da vinci code by dan brown. it's just everything about the book - the short chapters mimicking scene changes in a movie, the correlation of the plot to famous da vinci paintings, the historical and religious references to jesus as a mortal. i'm simply blown away. the minute i started reading the book i immediately thought of jesse and the discussions we used to have at lunch about religion, art, and whatever. he was absolutely right - well, at least in terms of the subject of this book. i can't wait til he reads it. what a smart guy. so many things i want to talk about with him.

speaking of smart guys, i called alex yesterday to see if he had read it already since he is the biggest book nerd i know. although he already read angels & demons, he refuses to read the da vinci code b/c it simply bored him. i'm not surprised at all. the writings of dan brown just don't compare to the case studies he's reading in law school. jibberish. nevertheless, he's gonna read it so that i have someone to compare notes with- after finals, that is.

quote of the day: "anyone who can't deal with more than 10 people in their lives should just fucking die." - alex. sounds harsh but the context in which it was spoken was hilarious!

mel, what do the bold letters on the jacket mean???

i swear i encounter the strangest people in my daily life. i was standing in the only line open at ralphs holding my dad's lactaid in one hand and the mofo in back of me has the nerve to come up and put his groceries down before mine. of course i give him the look of death before saying anything just to make him feel stupid and hopefully he would see how rude he is. not to mention he was practically standing side by side with me. does this man have no concept of space?! the grosser part was the fact that he kept sniffing his snot back up into his lungs and the sound of it just echoed throughout the store. once again i give him the look of death so that he'd hopefully stop. what makes it worse is that he kept stepping forward each time i moved up to the keep the space between the two of us. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THIS GUY? ugh! and to top it off, he kept breathing down my neck. i probably have sars now.

i just wanted to say thanks to all my friends who came to celebrate my bday on saturday. although today's the actual day i turn 28, there was a good turnout at the brass monkey. i have to hand it to dex - he's ALWAYS down to hang out plus he lives the furthest. it was nice to see mendell and april again considering i see them about once every 3 years. i actually thought this was the first birthday where i wasn't obnoxiously drunk until i saw the pictures stephan and chinah took of me squeezing my boobs together. EMBARASSING! not to mention i can't believe i got the nerve to get up there and sing an aretha franklin song (my coworkers are still trippin). kris, ortega, and jesse also sang which made me one happy camper. the night couldn't be complete without garden cafe - minced beef egg on rice! i'm tired... lates.

happy new year ya'll!

shh... i'm still pms-ing.
me: man, my boobs hurt.
my mom: maybe you're pregnant.
me: uh. no.

so my parents came back from vegas today and we were fortunate enough to get the house cleaned before they had a heart attack from the mess we made. i think the worst part of our new year's party was the vomit stains deshaun left in our bathroom carpet. it still smells. not to mention i found a pile of vomit in the plant right outside our front door. i tried to flood it out, but i think i made it worse.

i also found out kris was licking his finger and touching my face when i passed out that night. you ho. REVENGE IS MINE!!! muahahhahahaha! don't be surprised if you find another picture with a weiner in front of your face.
