you know what's weird? having drinks after work with the ceo. it's kind of an uncomfortable feeling regardless of the alcohol in my system telling me to get up, start dancing, and hang off of people's shoulders. i had to contain myself with only one jack & coke... man was that good. i feel like i can't be my regular self, like i'm putting up this fake, calm image of myelf when normally i can be a chatterbox. oh well, who cares. we all had fun anyway.

i had a blast on saturday! (did i just say "blast"? ugh... what the hell is happening to me?) first, duane and i had dinner at max's on amar. dude... hella good filipino food. did you know duane got bitten by a DWENDE? wuahahaha! then we headed off to see alicia keys, beyonce, and missy elliot. it turns out we missed tamia and missy b/c we spent too much time drinking in the car. i always thought i had a strong bladder but that evening proved me wrong. i had to get up in the middle of alicia keys's segment b/c anymore pressure sitting down would have caused a cascading waterfall down to the lower levels. we bumped into james outside and he was nice enough to share his m&m's. then we ended the evening with the nice ol' taco truck. mmmm.... yummy.

i just came from THEE worst lunch ever. it was the annual shareholders meeting for the credit union and we were "forced" to sit and eat our lunch with board members. honestly, i have nothing personal against anyone on the board, but c'mon. who's idea was it to mix such a diverse group of people trying to make them interact when a majority of the employees of the credit union could care less? no one wants to talk about their personal lives - that's why it's called "personal". small talk is the worst thing in the world! i looked around the room and every table looked dead. it was the most quiet meal we've ever had compared to the christmas parties when we were all able to sit next to our friends. from what i've been told by employees who've worked here for years, this was the first time we had to be seated that way.

that was utter torture. call me ignorant, but i could care less about how many parsons employees are currently working in iraq. it was their choice to go there. this company is NOT doing better than it did years ago. i should know - my father was a dedicated engineer for over 15 years. it's done nothing but go downhill. it's completely based on politics and brown-nosing. it's pretty discouraging knowing i have no faith in this company, but it's the truth.

now for the minor, trivial things: our chicken sandwiches from santorini's were horrible. the bread was so hard it cut my gums. the center was soggy and disgusting. the vegetables inside the sandwich were burned. the apple fritter for dessert was unbreakable - i ate only the top layer. i think i would have had a better meal at the poochie cafe in the lobby.

"ain't nuthin but a hoochie mama... hood rat, hood rat, hoochie mama!" why the hell do i have that song in my head? but everytime i hear a new song that damn thing gets jabbed into my head too. my coworker eugenia started humming that bouncy magic mountain commercial song with the dancing old man and then maria started "when i'm a walking i strut my stuff and i'm so strung out..."

arghasdhfhdhshalsdjflsdf!!!!!

anything beats that bette midler song kathie was singing with the words "god is watching us... from a distance." oh my goodness. that song gets on my nerves. nevertheless, it always cracks me up.
