thank god he picked zora! she's more genuine, sincere, and down to earth. as soon as he told sarah he didn't choose her all i could think of was, "CRY, BITCH, CRY!" she was so confident he was gonna pick her. what a ho.
and what's all this talk about halitosis? it reminds me of a story:
i was in college when i crossed paths with this guy i used to be talking to in high school. it had been 3 years since we last saw each other so i agreed to a date just to catch up. bad idea. he showed up to the apartment with his surfer dude hair hanging in front of his face (with hi-lites, mind you), a soccer jersey, dirty-ass jeans, and flip-flops! on our way to the movie theater all he does is talk, talk, talk about himself. i can't even remember what movie we saw because all i could concentrate on was NOT BREATHING. from the moment he sat down he couldn't keep his mouth shut. comments here and there. UH! dying here! i don't know what was worse, rotten brocolli or his breath. and to top it off every time a dance beat would come on during the movie, he would say "aaawwww, yeah! that's the jam!" and shrug his shoulders trying to get me to join him. yeah, i never talked to him again after that.

my trunk and the rest of my car smells like a wet dish rag. i don't think i'll ever get that leaking trunk fixed because eh, i'm just too lazy. the only sucky part is i have to leave my windows open the day after it rains so i don't die of molded-carpet inhalation. not to mention the weather is still freezing the day after on a freeway going 65mph.
i'd honestly have to say that yesterday was the best valentine's day ever. it's pretty interesting how the little things in life can make such a big impact. as for me, it makes me fly. i have to give a big ups to jesse for the effort and thoughtfulness. you almost made me cry - out of happiness, of course. you're the greatest. and to top it off, i kicked ass in cosmic bowling! yeah!
now on to the good stuff...
MY SISTER GOT ENGAGED YESTERDAY!!!!!
woohoo! i luv that guy. everyone knows how much i hated her first fiance which makes me appreciate chris even more. i have a future brother-in-law!!! i can't even explain how excited and happy i am for her. AND he did it the right way... he asked my parents' permission first which shows he has much respect for them. i don't have respect for anyone who doesn't respect my parents. plain and simple.
my sister's engaged!!!!

why does valentine's day have to exist? it's that one day of the year when people remind each other that they're loved, but instead the whole holiday makes me sad. i remember in gradeschool i used to happily send out valentines to all my classmates until i saw the faces of those who got hardly any. things haven't changed much as i grew older. all the single people would be miserable because they don't have that special someone to celebrate valentine's day with while all the couples bragged about what they did for their girls and what the girls got from their guys. it's like, "look what i got! what did you get?" single's awareness day as kristine would call it. i think part of the reason why i never looked forward to this so called holiday is because i never had a good one. the closest would have been in '95 when i found out that ry had a crush on me. he had a single red rose waiting for me in class on my seat when i arrived plus the cutest card which poured out his feelings for me. talk about letting your guard down. that's pretty much the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for me. the following 2 valentine's after that was nothing but war. muak muak muah...
so then i thought this year is gonna be the year. WRONG! he doesn't believe in the holiday. he says, "why pick one day out of the year to show that you love someone when you should be doing that everyday." so true, but at the same time it still makes me a little sad. everyone around me will be getting flowers, candy, cards, and what not, but for me it'll be another average day.

jen has an interesting point. my boss asked me one other day when i'd be moving out of my house. "what for?" i asked him. he didn't understand the fact that i'm a 27 year old college graduate still living with my parents. i've already experienced the whole moving out phase when i was in irvine. he was telling me how american families push their kids out the door at 18 and how he couldn't wait to move out. well, filipino families will do the exact opposite and try to keep you there as long as they can or at least until you get married. my parents' reasoning for me staying home is 1) free rent, 2) free food, and 3) it makes them happy knowing they can see us (at least) every day. honestly, it's doesn't bother me anymore compared to when i first moved back home after graduation when they always wanted to know where i was going, telling me it's too late to go out, yada yada yada... but now we have no problems and they respect my busy lifestyle. i can come home 6:30 in the morning, get ready to go to work, and they won't even question it. eventually i'll move out depending on which comes first --> i get married or until i've become so financially set that i decide to buy my own house. there's no rush for either one anyway.
