yesterday was youth sunday at my church. basically the youth takes over and leads the whole service and a bunch of other youth groups from fellow southern cali churches come to visit. it happens about 3 times a year and each time the youth plans the service i can't help but be amused. pretty witty, they are (i am yoda). they had this skit on violence where only one person was supposed to get shot, but when the main character forgot his lines, he ended up shooting the whole cast to improvise and cut the skit short. they had all the adults, lolas, and lolos laughing their asses off. it's kinda funny though when i looked around at the congregation. the church was filled with all these intimidating, teenage, gansta-looking thugs and hoochies who were singing and clapping their hands to the praise & worship songs. i also couldn't help but notice their heads bowed solemnly while praying. you wouldn't even think these kids had any sense of spirituality if you saw them walking down the street. the unity that these kids have simply amazes me.
