dude, they weren't kidding when they told me that everyone who shops at banana is gay. okay, so not everyone. most of my coworkers are though. anyway, i had my orientation yesterday in studio city and it bored the hell out of me. six hours of videos and nonstop talking about what the company stands for, how to sell, types of fabric, pleats or no pleats... god, how does my sister put up with this every fricking day??? the upside to it all? well, since i passed my quiz at the end of orientation, i get one free item before i start work. ONE FREE ITEM!!! i'm gonna get the most expensive jacket i can find. plus i get 50% off, for myself only, and 30% off for other people. aren't you lucky to be my friend? anyway, i'm not too thrilled about this job, but hey, it's a job with a lot of flexibility considering my ugly school schedule.
so i visited lolo again today and we talked for an hour or so about what's been happening over in the nursing home, how his roommate fell, the hula dancers that came to entertain them today, how my uncle's weaksauce (his son), the new CRNA that calls him "pascualito!" or "compadre!", my educational goals, his catheter and his daily issues with it, you know, the usual. just sitting there talking to him made me feel so at home, relaxed, and oblivious to all my problems. i am so lucky to have him around... and he's 91!!! can you believe that?!?! he totally supports all my academic decisions and my dreams. (psst! i'm his favorite grandchild! hehehe.) anyway, i luv him like crazy.
