i know i'm not that close to my relatives in the philippines, but when i found out yesterday that one of them was murdered i was caught extremely off guard with mixed feelings of sadness, anger, confusion, and helplessness. apparently it was a home invasion at my uncle's cottage up in the mountains of tagaytay. someone shot him to death in his living room and stabbed his wife 6 times while she was showering. my aunt is in serious condition trying hard to recover while funeral plans for my uncle have already been made. and to think that i was up there at their house just 4 months ago sitting on their patio eating lunch and taking pictures.
