i hung out with the lead singer of rivermaya!!! rivermaya is only thee biggest alternative band in the philippines. anyway, i had no idea how big this guy was til our music video production was assigned. we asked him to be the talent for the music video i'm directing only b/c that guy is ALWAYS singing in class so he pretty much had no choice. i asked my brother and cousin to play acoustic for him and we went to his house on saturday where we practiced for a couple of hours. i met his wife and she showed me all the pictures from his performances and all the articles written on him that she saved in a photo album. it turns out this guy was born up in the bay and was sent to the philippines every summer to stay out of trouble which is where he bumped into certain people that hooked him up with a band and the rest is history. he moved back to cali to take television production classes and then he's gonna move back to the PI in june or july. he and his wife said that if we ever go back to the PI just give them a call and they'll take us everywhere, even to one of his shows! i was so stoked (yes, stoked). anyway, enough drooling, i gotta go to class.
